SS Premium Customs is in Inman, on the north side of Spartanburg County, at 191 Roper Rd. We do not run a separate shop in Spartanburg; every car is tinted in the Inman studio by the same installers. Most cars take two to four hours, so a lot of Spartanburg customers drop the car off in the morning and pick it up the same day.
Many of the cars we see from Spartanburg are on their second tint job. The first one was a cheap dyed film that has turned purple, bubbled along the top edge or started to peel. We steam the old film off and clean the adhesive before anything new goes on. It is the slow part of the job, and it decides whether the new tint looks right. Carbon and ceramic films do not fade purple the way dyed film does.
For a passenger car, 27% VLT is the legal limit on the front side windows, the windows behind the driver and the rear window. The windshield only takes a strip above the AS-1 line, and red, yellow and amber film is not allowed at all. We meter every window before you drive away.
